    About the designer

    About the brand

Camille Beinhorn Jewelry grew out of a fascination with the mineral kingdom and the handmade process.  Jewelry is contextualized as the connection between our bodies, the earth, and history of human ingenuity. Each collection has an individualistic, modern approach to materials and adornment, fused with a reverence for ancient craftsmanship.

    About the designer

Camille Beinhorn is a third generation artist jeweler. After obtaining her B.F.A. in sculpture and painting from NYU, she went on to study classical jewelry making techniques in New York City’s storied Diamond District.

Influenced formally by her background in fine arts, Camille creates distinctive pieces with precious materials to activate and adorn the body. She gravitates towards gemstones that have unusual mineral inclusions, cuts, or surface textures, evaluating their intrinsic optical properties to thoughtfully highlight each stone’s unique characteristics. Gemstones are selected for their fire, flash, or glow, favoring the luminescence and elemental color play inherent to them above outdated notions of beauty. Combining gemstones in a lush and visceral palette, her highly wearable and often one of a kind designs realize a balance between subtle and striking expressions.

Camille credits a childhood spent on three continents with both inspiring her passion for jewelry and informing her cultivated visual sense. Having been exposed from a young age to jewelry objects the world over, she developed an early understanding of global styles and attitudes towards self-ornamentation. A lifelong student of jewelry as a historical medium, Camille observed differences not only in how jewelry may be worn by its diverse wearers, but also various regional styles of cutting and setting gemstones, and fabrication methods. She brings this worldly experience and sensitivity to her designs.

Utilizing metalworking techniques dating back to ancient times, Camille makes each piece entirely by hand in her Brooklyn studio.
